Why one guide, one vehicle

Elizabeth, owner and guide, Kalaheo
Most visitors see Kauai through a windshield on someone else's schedule. Twenty minutes at the canyon, back on the bus, next stop.
Elizabeth started Kauai Luxury Tours because the island does not work that way. The light at Waimea changes by the hour. The best stop is often the one nobody planned. And the stories that make a place matter get lost when you are trying to talk over thirty people.
Today every tour runs the same way. Elizabeth picks you up wherever you are staying, anywhere from Princeville to Poipu, in a Ford Expedition that seats up to seven. The itinerary is a starting point, not a script: if you want longer at Koke'e, or a stop nobody else would think to make, that is the whole point of going private.
By the numbers
One guide, one vehicle, one group at a time. Here is what that has added up to so far.
What we will not compromise on
Running one vehicle means we can only take a few groups a week. It also means we get to do it properly.
Your day, not our schedule
Every itinerary is a suggestion. Stay longer where you are enjoying yourself, skip what does not interest you, stop when the light is good. We have the day, and it is yours.
A guide, not a driver
Elizabeth guides every tour personally and knows the history and the culture behind each stop, not just the route between them. You are riding with the owner, not a driver on a roster.
FAQs
The questions we get asked most. If yours is not here, call and ask.
The vehicle seats up to seven. The flat rate covers the first four guests, and each additional guest is $95, up to a maximum of seven.
Anywhere on the island. We run regular pickups from Princeville, Kapa'a, Lihue, Koloa and Poipu, and we will collect you from wherever you are staying.
Never. Every tour is private. One vehicle, one group, no strangers and no fixed departure time.
It depends where we collect you, because the driving time changes. Waimea Canyon runs about five hours from Koloa and Poipu, six from Lihue and eight from Princeville. North Shore tours run about seven hours. Each tour page lists its own timing.
Yes. We run private transfers to and from Lihue Airport for up to seven passengers with luggage, serving Princeville, Kapa'a, Koloa and Poipu.
